Our expert team at A Beautiful You Medical Spa stays abreast of the latest advances in aesthetics and invests in state-of-the-art equipment to smooth away skin imperfections. We understand your angst about your acne scars, and we can treat them successfully with the latest technology, Opus Plasma®.
What is Opus Plasma?
Plasma technology for skin resurfacing improves on laser technology for treating skin imperfections. Opus Plasma uses fractional plasma technology to smooth out a variety of skin problems. It’s great for acne scars.
Opus uses electrical plasma energy to improve your skin’s surface and the dermis deep underneath it. Like other skin resurfacing treatments, it creates microscopic wounds on your skin. Your body then starts to rush healing nutrients to the wounds.
The fractional technology produces radio waves that stimulate collagen production, a key protein that keeps your skin smooth and youthful. Fresh collagen is produced in the new skin cells that replace dead ones. Your skin’s tone and texture is firmer and smoother.
What happens during an Opus Plasma treatment?
Opus Plasma is a noninvasive skin resurfacing procedure similar to laser resurfacing. We place a topical anesthetic on the treatment area to minimize any discomfort during the procedure. Then we pass the Opus patented device over your skin.
Treating acne scars on your face with Opus Plasma only takes about 10-20 minutes, start to finish. When the procedure is over, we put a soothing balm on your skin.
How many Opus Plasma treatments do I need?
You may need two or three treatments spaced about one month apart, and the results are long-lasting.
The advantages of Opus Plasma
The effects of Opus Plasma are similar to that of laser resurfacing, but Opus Plasma has a couple of significant advantages.
With Opus Plasma, you have very little downtime after the procedure. You need a couple of days to heal, and you can expect a few days of pink skin on the treated area. Contrast that with pink skin lasting up to three months after laser resurfacing treatments.
Opus Plasma works well on all skin tones and colors. It’s safe for dark skin. On the other hand, laser resurfacing on darker skin tones may require special precautions.
If you have other skin imperfections besides acne scars, Opus Plasma treats them too. If you have dark spots from sun damage, fine lines, enlarged pores, or unsightly red lines from small blood vessels, Opus Plasma can treat these skin imperfections at the same time.
